As a 48 in 48 participant, you are receiving 6 months of Evermore at no cost to you. You and your team are on your way to becoming pros at WordPress so you can maximize your organization impact and influence. We are so excited to work with you and can’t wait to help further your impact in and around Atlanta.
The following four steps will help you get the most out of your Evermore experience. You, or anyone in your organization can use this helpful guide to get started managing your new site.
Note: for printing or offline viewing options, this guide is available as a PDF and an eBook (ePub).
Step 1: How Evermore Works
You now have a beautifully designed new website, but what is most important often comes after your site launches: education, training, personal support, access to great tools, and helpful content.
Below are some important details about how Evermore works including pricing, support and education and tools.
No Coding or Technical Skills Required
We handle everything behind the scenes so you can focus on what you do best. That includes:
- Fast, reliable hosting
- Keeping everything updated
- Security monitoring and fixes
- Adding helpful new features
No coding is required to update your content, and we have robust user friendly tools and features that can help you increase the influence of your nonprofit:
- eCommerce
- Membership / Subscriptions
- Educational tools, like videos and integrated walkthroughs
- Design tools
You’ll be surprised at what you’re able to do!
Monthly Support
Our pricing is transparent and package-based. There are no hidden costs or upcharges. Evermore customers pay an affordable monthly support fee:
- $50 per month for standard website
- $75 per month for eCommerce websites
You own 100% of your site and there are no contracts, ever.
Optional Paid Educational Consults
Some people learn better in person or want their staff members to have a team training. Evermore offers two-hour, in-person training sessions for $350. Contact us to learn more about our educational consults.
Optional Paid Content Work
Occasionally, organizations request that we update their content. Our rate for non-coding work like this is $90 per hour. However, this is not something we encourage. Our goal is to empower you to update your own content and use the available tools so that you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and the support you need to be successful.
Step 2: Platform Orientation
Now the fun part! You’ll need to be logged in to the admin panel of your site.
If you are unable to login and unable to locate your login information, you can reset the password by going to the login area of your new site and clicking “Lost your password?”. You can always access the login area of your site by adding /login to the end of the address. For example:
- nonprofit.evermo.re/login
- nonprofit.org/login
WP101
Learn WordPress basics right here in about an hour with helpful video tutorials.
Once logged in, simply navigate to Plugins. Activate WP101 if it is not already activated, by clicking Activate. You’ll then see Video Tutorials in the left side of your admin panel.
Below are are the video tutorials we recommend starting with. Begin with the green section and when you are ready, move on to the yellow section.
The non-highlighted video tutorials do not apply to you and you do not need to view them.
Tips:
- Set aside 2-3 separate times to watch the videos.
- Supercharge your learning by pairing these videos Sidekick walkthroughs (more on this below!). You’ll get an overview and then a guided opportunity to complete actual tasks.
- Find a friend or coworker to do this with. It’s more fun, more engaging, and more memorable.
Sidekick
Sidekick is an integrated walkthrough tool. Even better than videos, it gives you step-by-step visual and audio instructions, enabling you to learn while completing a task.
Once activated, navigate to Click for Help.
Go through the WP basics, which are highlighted in yellow. Since you just received a new website, you won’t need to learn about Themes at this point (non-highlighted).
Tip:
- Gather together some actual content that you would like to update so you can learn and accomplish your work simultaneously.
