How to Create a WordPress Page
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to create a WordPress page for your site. If you’re an Evermore customer, you can take advantage of our interactive walkthrough tutorials, which will assist you in learning while setting up a new page.
Step 1: Navigate to Pages and Select Add a Page
While logged into the admin panel, navigate to Pages and select Add New.
Step 2: Add a Title and Content to the Page
After selecting Add New, you’ll see the following:
Note that this is very similar to a Word document. You may type your own text, copy and paste text, add images, save, publish, and more.
The following steps correspond to the numbered areas in the image above.
- Enter a title here.
- Use these buttons to add media, forms, or icons (when certain plugins are enabled).
- Use these buttons to format your content.
- Add and edit your content here.
- If you don’t want to see the HTML code, stay in visual mode. If you get curious, click on over to Text mode to see under the hood.
- Always save your work—at least in draft form if you haven’t published yet!
- Want to see what your handy work is going to look like on the site before you publish? Select preview and separate window will open showing you what your work will look like published.
- If everything looks good, hit Publish.
Pro Tip: Sometimes, when copying and pasting from a different webpage, the styling (fonts, font sizes, etc.) from that original webpage is transfers over to your new WordPress page. To avoid this copy and paste into a text editor first. Apple users can use the “TextEdit” tool. Windows users can use Notepad.
